“Built in 1798, this historic home presented a challenge to the team tasked with designing and updating the cramped kitchen. They decided to combine the existing kitchen with an adjacent closed-in room, which opened the layout and created a more expansive kitchen area. The team then set out to create a modern, 21st-century kitchen while preserving the space’s historic log-home charm, including the low ceilings and existing wood beams. They installed two large islands to create distinct zones in the kitchen, new cabinetry, and granite countertops. The resulting kitchen meets the client’s needs for a modern, functional kitchen while honoring the historic architecture of the home.” Read Full Article

“Touch or tactile stimulation is an essential way of experiencing an environment, whether walking barefoot on floors, immersing oneself in a bath, or participating in hands-on activities and hobbies. “Located in the heart of Middle Tennessee, just outside Nashville, this home was built in 2005 and designed in the traditional style of the original residents. The house featured the atypical design elements and styles used in the 1990s and early 2000s.
The kitchen had traditional wood cabinetry, black granite countertops, oak wood floors and brown wallpaper. Fast forward to 2020, and the style and color tones of the kitchen were not aligned with the style of the new homeowners.
Carriage House Custom Homes & Interiors of Franklin, Tennessee, took on the task of designing and remodeling this traditional kitchen and transforming it….” Read Full Article

“Home renovation and remodeling projects are in high demand with people spending more time at home entertaining, working, and learning. Popular television shows make those before-and-after transformations look relatively simple. But be careful. If you’re not using professionals, you probably will not get the results you’ve been dreaming about.
The most common feedback Sharon and Waine Hicks, owners of Carriage House Custom Homes & Interiors, hear from their clients is, “We had no idea how much detail is involved in a kitchen or a bath project!” “There’s so much coordination in a project,” says Sharon. “Whether it’s a small bath or a huge kitchen, or a whole house remodel…” Read Full Article
